Regular hirers at the Bowery Theatre meet in the same room, at the same time, on the same day of the week – weekly, fortnightly or monthly, at least 10 times per year. If you regularly need a space to create, rehearse, meet or train – the Bowery Theatre is home to a range of spaces that are available for regular hire.

Any 1 community room: $28.80 / hr
1 flexible space: $29.95 / hr
2 flexible spaces: $39.75 / hr
3 flexible spaces: $49.25 / hr
Not for profit groups (certificate of incorporation required):
Any 1 room: $10.10 / hr
2 flexible spaces: $19.55 / hr
3 flexible spaces: $28.95 / hr
Seniors (certificate of incorporation required):
Any 1 room: $10.10 per session up to 5 hours
2 flexible spaces: $13.95 per session up to 5 hours
3 flexible spaces: $19.55 per session up to 5 hours
The Bowery Theatre arranges a security guard to be present when regular hirers are booked, at no cost to the hirer.
Regular hirers who start their booking outside of staffed hours are may be issued with a swipe card and alarm code to enter the building if required.
Important Information for regular hirers
Induction: You are required to complete an induction to the venue prior to becoming a regular hirer.
Shared Space: The Bowery Theatre is an arts and community hub – other rooms will be utilised by other groups during your booking. There is potential for noise bleed between different rooms.
Public Liability Insurance: Regular hirers are required to have public liability insurance and must provide a copy of their current certificate.
After hours: There are no staff at the Bowery Theatre after hours and the front doors do not automatically open. If your booking is after hours, you will use your swipe card to enter. You must provide a doorperson to open the doors for other guests as they arrive (doors must not be chocked open), or you can book front of house staff to assist at an additional cost.
Staffing: Front of house staff and technicians can be booked at an additional cost to assist with your activities if required.
Liquor: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct liquor licenses for your bookings, if required. A copy of your certificate must be provided. The Bowery Theatre is not a licensed venue.
Food: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct food licenses for your bookings, if required. A copy of your license must be provided. The Bowery Theatre does not have a catering service or food license.
Gaming/Gambling: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct gaming licenses for your bookings, if required. A copy of your license must be provided.
Conditions of use: When you sign the regular room hire request form, you are agreeing to the full conditions of use listed on the form.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we serve alcohol and food at our meeting?
Yes, if you have the correct licenses. See important information above. If you are planning a function or event, different rates and requirements apply – please request a function/event hire form.
Can we come earlier than our booking to set-up and/or stay later than our booking to pack-up?
No. Your booking must include set-up and pack-up time.
What time can we stay at STACC until?
Everyone must be out of the building by midnight on Friday and Saturday nights, and out by 11pm all other nights.
Do I need public liability insurance?
Yes. If you do not have public liability you can book spaces at STACC as a casual hirer.
Can STACC staff help to set-up and/or pack-down before and/or after the event?
If you require staff for your booking, you can request to book technicians or front of house staff at an additional cost – see important information above. If you do not book staff, there will be no STACC staff to assist.
How do I become a regular hirer at the Bowery Theatre?
- Complete and return a Bowery Theatre Regular Room Hire Form 2019 (hard copies also available from our Venue Services staff). We will assess your request, determine security requirements, check availability and confirm your request via email. Please note that submitting a form does not guarantee your booking.
- Attend an induction.
- Collect swipe cards (if required) during business hours.
