Located in the heart of St. Albans and only a short walk from St. Albans train station, STACC is an ideal venue for your next function or event. Venue Hire Fees

A booking fee of $88.00 applies to all bookings.

A refundable bond applies to all function/event bookings. $520 for low risk functions/events and $1000 for high risk functions/events.

Security:  At least one security guard is required for the duration of your booking. The number of security guards required depends on the number of people attending the event/function and the type of activity taking place.

Security charges:

Weekdays: $50/hr

Saturdays: $57/hr

Sundays: $76/hr

 

Important Information

Induction: You are required to complete an induction to the venue prior to your function.

Shared Space: STACC is a community centre, and it is likely that other rooms will be booked by other groups during your function. If separate groups are using Flexible Space 2 & 3 you will need to share the kitchen. There is potential for noise bleed between different rooms.

After hours: There are no staff at STACC after hours and the front doors do not automatically open. Security will open the building and flexible space/s for you. You must provide a doorperson to open the doors for guests as they arrive (doors must not be chocked open), or you can book front of house staff to assist at an additional cost.

Event Permits: Some activities require you to obtain an event permit. We will assess your application and contact you if this is required.

Staffing: Front of house staff and technicians can be booked at an additional cost to assist with your function / event if required.

Liquor: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct liquor licenses for your function / event, if required. STACC is not a licensed venue.

Food: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct food licenses for your function / event, if required. STACC does not have a catering service or food license.

Gaming/Gambling: It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct gaming licenses for your function, if required.

Conditions of use: When you sign the function / event hire request form, you are agreeing to the full conditions of use listed on the form.


Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a not-for-profit rate for function / event hire?

STACC does not have a not-for-profit rate for function / event hire. We only have not-for profit rates for regular bookings (10 or more bookings in a year) or casual hires  (small meetings in our community spaces upstairs).

Can I provide my own security?

After assessing your function / event hire request and determining how many security guards are required for your function, we book guards through our security company. The cost of security is charged to the hirer. If you would like to provide additional security you are welcome to, please do let us know.

Can we sell alcohol and food at our function / event?

Yes, if you have the correct licenses. See important information above.

Do I need to bring my own cooking equipment?

Yes. There are no pots, pans, knives, chopping boards, crockery, utensils, cutlery or small appliances in the STACC kitchens. You must bring your own.

What time can we stay at STACC until?

Functions must finish at 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights, with everyone out of the building by midnight. Functions must finish at 10pm all other evenings, with everyone out of the building by 11pm.

Can STACC staff help to set-up and/or pack-down before and/or after the event?

If you require staff for your event, you can request to book technicians or front of house staff at an additional cost – see important information above. If you do not book staff, there will be no STACC staff to assist.

 

How do I book and pay for a function at STACC?

  1. Complete and return a STACC Function or Event Room Hire Form 2019 (hard copies available at STACC reception). We will assess your request, determine security requirements, check availability and email you a quote. Please note that submitting a form does not guarantee your booking.
  2. Once you have received a quote from STACC, confirm in writing that you will proceed with the booking. We will then generate your invoice and send to you.
  3. Pay the invoice at STACC reception. This will confirm your booking. Please note payment needs to be made in full at least 5 days prior to the function / event.
  4. Attend an induction (and production meeting if required).

 

2020 Function or Event Room Hire Forms will be available from November 2019.
