It’s  time to BE BOLD at the Bowery Theatre, the St Albans Community Centre and across Brimbank. The Be Bold Festival is a collection of unique and interactive arts events that seek to engage, stimulate and celebrate diversity. Fashion is an international language that displays both talent and skill and is a focus of this festival-we celebrate, subvert, up-cycle and re-image fashion as a way of expression by and for the people of Brimbank. Some of the loudest cultural statements and displays of ability are made by what we wear!

We officially open the festival on Friday, 11 October from 7pm with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony followed by an evening of entertainment and refreshments, hosted by Lisa Maza (Merian / Yidindji / Dutch background). There’s plenty to see and do with community-led fashion shows, interactive arts making sessions, talks, exhibitions, live music, and workshops.

We have a special focus on activities for children and families of all ages. If you are interested in creative expression, collaboration, and contemporary arts join us in being bold!

Please click on each of the events below to find out more information and to register for some of the pre-festival events.

The Be Bold Festival is supported by the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land, the people of Kulin nations, and pay our respects to elders past and present.
